We all know that Political economy structures society but we all don't know the conlicts that it produces amongst inequality and people in certain living conditions, lifestyles, and cultures. In order to recognize the imbalance of society we have to understand how society is viewed and constructed. The approach to political economy is Materialism and that it signifies ideas and institutions as key components to how society organizes its production. That being said, the most dominant view of how the worlds function is the classic view, Neo-Liberalism. Which influenced the contemporary view, Global Capitalism. This view enforces the belief that individualized corporations working towards economic growth is better for humanity. In contrast, through further analysis, this approach is deemed to be incorrect. Not only does it endorse massive amounts of job losses among people, but also creates stress among those who lost theirs jobs and inevitable leads to a physically unhealthy lifestyle. Some countries then form welfare-state regimes that help pay for health care(Canada). it all depends on the type of capitalism the country displays since each country displays it differently from one another. how ever this also creates an imbalance and inequality.
Concluding my point in this brief intro, even the wealthist of all developed countries (U.S) there is much disparity. Most importantly that even the wealthiest nations lack to provide a better life style and a healthy life in general to their citizens. The ideology is that the best way to make it on top is to be "the top". Being connected to the economic system will keep you healthier then not having a job at all. And having a better job than someone else keeps you healther then those with less income than you.
Being more familiar with the health care system it made me aware that so many people lack proper medical treatment and that the most significant reason is the initial lack of money or economic status one dominates. My reaction to this chapter is that it is unfair that these inequalities persist, especially with the amount of money that can be distributed the government and individualized corperations,to those unwealthy people. From what I know so far, unless I am that of a high position, very little can be done to change this reality.
